About The Tri-County Airport
With its runway sited 85 feet above sea level in the northwest Florida panhandle, the Tri-County Airport (FAA identifier KBCR) consists of 304 acres aligned north and south (runway 01-19). The terminal, services, and hangars are on the west-side of the runway.  A certified helipad is between the taxiway and terminal building.  Click photo on the right for high resolution details.  More photos are available here.

We are in the central time zone.

The street address is 1983 Tri-County Airport Road, Bonifay, FL 32425.  Mark Wilson serves as Airport Manager; the airport telephone is (850) 703-6808, email manager@kbcr.gov.

Airport "Ownership":  The airport is a public entity governed by the Tri-County Airport Authority, with nine unpaid volunteer board members appointed by the County Commissioners of Holmes, Jackson and Washington Counties, Florida.  We are a not-for-profit public airport; our operational budget is paid for through the sale of fuel and through hanger rents.  Details on our establishment, statutory references and revenue can be found here.

The airport serves northwest Florida and southeast Alabama, and is approximately 6 miles northeast of Bonifay, Florida, 6 miles northwest of Chipley, Florida and 11 miles south of Graceville, Florida.  We are a general aviation airport with tenants who live in several of the surrounding towns and cities to include Destin and Panama City.

Expect skydiving operations primarily during daylight hours (in good weather) during Saturdays and Sundays.  Due to our close proximity to military flight training in the vicinity from the Army, Navy and Air Force, pilots should expect military traffic (helicopters and fixed wing) using the field for practice at all hours of the night and day.  We occasionally have powered parachutes and ultralight aircraft using the field as well as crop dusters.

Fuel Services & On-Site Facilities

The airport offers self-serve 100 LL and Jet A fuel which is priced competitively

We have a terminal building (always open) that includes:

  • Free public WIFI connectivity

  • A public lounge with large couches, water/soft drinks and a small conference table

  • A conference room with large-screen television to be used for meetings

  • A break room with tables and snacks

  • Two restrooms (one with a shower)

  • An airport office (manned Monday through Friday during normal business hours).

Hangar leases (both enclosed and shade hangers) are available up to King Air/Citation size as well as short-term or long-term tie-down spaces.  We offer a fuel discount from our already competitive fuel prices to on-site tenants: hangars, shade hangars and tie-downs. Tenants provide their credit card information to our manager, and the system automatically takes the discount when fuel is purchased.

Maintenance & Flight Instruction

There is (limited) maintenance and flight instruction (private, commercial, single and multi-engine) available on the field.  Contact us at (850) 703-6808 for more details including points of contact.

Instrument Approaches
